This article is an extremely short intro to how internet marketing works and were written for the very beginner, so if you already know, just scroll on through! Basically, internet marketing is a very broad category, so I will write a short and to-the-point article about it here for you the beginner.
What Is Internet Marketing
Internet marketing is the act of making money online, there are many faces and aspects to Internet marketing, and even online businesses use Internet marketing to boost sales and reach more of their target customers. Internet marketing is also utilized by the US government to encourage voters to vote!
What I will take about here is affiliate marketing which is a form of niche-based online marketing.
So to sum it up short, affiliate marketing is the act of promoting other companies' products online and receiving a percentage of money when someone buys through you.
For example, you can sign up for Barnes & Noble as an affiliate. Let's say there is a book you have read and you love it, however, you would like to make a little extra money. You sign up to Barnes & Noble as an affiliate, you find the book you liked, you get the link for that book, and let's just say you are talking to someone online and you recommend that book, you can then send them the link you got from Barnes & Noble and if they buy the book, you get a % of the purchase.
NO Handling of Products
As an affiliate marketer, you do not handle any products, all you do is recommend products and an even better part is that you don't even have to buy the product first to recommend it as long as you do enough research and due diligence online before you recommend it to others.
A perfect place to find out about any product and tons of reviews is Amazon, they are the hugest affiliate marketing platform as of today (I believe). Many people are attracted to making money using Amazon due to their low barrier to entry compared to other forms of Internet Marketing and the best part you don't have to think about the logistics of everything.
You are just getting paid to point people to the best products.
